Exhibition Offer: Tudors to Windsors at the National Maritime Museum

Good afternoon,

I hope this finds you well. On behalf of Royal Museums Greenwich, I would like to extend the following invitation to you and your fellow Liverymen.

The Museum is gifting tickets to our current special exhibition Tudors to Windsors: 500 years of Royal Portraiture to all the livery companies in London. Please do share the information below with the Company, as you see fit:
It’s been a long hard year for everyone so by way of a small gift, the National Maritime Museum would like to offer all Liverymen a free ticket to Tudors to Windsors: 500 Years of Royal Portraiture, our major exhibition in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery.

We have created an unlisted URL here for you to book your free ticket https://tickets.rmg.co.uk/webstore/shop/viewItems.aspx?cg=RMGEXTWCM&c=EXTWCM. This will remain live between Monday 2nd – Friday 6th August, and whilst you need to book your free ticket before 6th, you can redeem your ticket at any point in the exhibition run (open until October).

With my best wishes and thanks,
Marianne

Foundation Of Support
During this year, ABS has been running our Foundation of Support campaign to celebrate our 170th anniversary and provide a renewed focus on our core support services.

This year’s #Time2Sketch falls in September which is when we will be raising awareness about our Physical Health and Disability support. We hope to use #Time2Sketch to further increase awareness of this support and help more people who need it.

Living with ill-health or disability – or caring for someone affected – can have a huge impact on you at work and at home. But we can help you to stay independent and improve your quality of life. More information is available on our website.

We hope you are able to take a break to join us and show off your creative skills. We are continually inspired by the submissions we receive and are looking forward to what this year will bring - all while raising important funds to enable us to continue to support the architectural community.

We continue to be here when you need us. Please get in touch with our welfare team for a confidential chat. ABS Helpline 020 3918 8588 or email  [email protected]

SHEEP DRIVE 26 SEPTEMBER

As you may know, The Worshipful Company of Woolmen is holding a Sheep Drive and Livery Fair on Southwark Bridge on Sunday 26th September, this year.

This will be an exciting day where Freemen of the City of London drive sheep across the Thames, re-enacting their historic right to bring their sheep to market in the city, always attended by a special guest and the Lord Mayor of London.

The Little Ship Club, which is situated just next to Southwark bridge, is opening its doors, during the Livery Fair, to welcome guests and visitors for light refreshments or lunch. The Little Ship Club is a private members’ club which has been a base for sailing and navigational training, in the City, for approaching 100 years. The Club has a riverside entrance in Three Cranes Wharf just downstream of Southwark bridge and within a few yards of the sheep.

You and members are cordially invited to visit the Little Ship Club, between 10:00 and 5:00pm, and relax for a while over drinks and light refreshments. In addition, a buffet lunch of cold meats, lasagne, cheeses and deserts is available between 12:00 and 3:00 pm,  for £30, but this needs to be booked in advance.

Please visit our website, www.littleshipclub.co.uk for more information; the event and the link for booking the buffet lunch can be seen on the home page of the website.

I hope that many of your liverymen will be able to visit the Little Ship Club on 26th September.

Best Wishes,

Paul Banks

Vice Commodore.
