The Master would like to invite members to a very special day on 23rd June to celebrate Highgate, one of the most interesting villages in our city.
The day begins with a private bespoke tour of the historic Kenwood House, designed by Robert Adam. The house is a former stately home, on the northern boundary of Hampstead Health. It served as a seat for the aristocratic Murray and Guinness families and had various tenants before it was left to the nation under the care of English Heritage. We will be led on this bespoke tour of the building and it's renowned art collection: Rembrandt, Vermeer and Frans Hals, as well as Gainsborough and Reynolds.
The tour will be followed by lunch in the Brew House Café*.
We will then walk across the Heath to Highgate Village where we will be met by two local architects who will give us a guided tour of the modern houses in the village and a small exhibition of modernism in Highgate.
The afternoon will close with a visit to a performance of Longitude** at the historic theatre above the Gatehouse in the village and a Q&A with the writer afterwards in the bar. This part of the day is optional.
Tickets: £48 not including lunch or drinks* or £25 without the theatre performance** - BOOKINGS CAN BE MADE BELOW.
The schedule for the day is as follows;
10.15 Meet
10.30 Tour begins
12.00 Lunch
14.00 Tour of modernist houses in Highgate

More Information about "Longitude"
Longitude is a brand new musical about the 18th century clockmaker who solved the sailors’ problem of finding their bearings at sea. The accuracy of his sea clocks changed the direction of time-keeping across the world, saved thousands of lives and opened up the world to trade.
